. A Traditional Approach To Color Making .
The use of color to create art dates back over 30,000 years when plant and animal matter were smeared, blown and dabbed on cave walls to create some of the most beautiful and vibrant images in the history or art. As late as the 18th century it was left to the artist or his apprentice to create colors for their own use. The colors were often tailored to specific painting techniques and utilized a wide variety of natural materials for pigments and vehicles.

Pigments By 1740 the commercial manufacture of paint began, leaving artists' more time to concentrate on their work and beginning a process of standardization for artists' color which has been warmly embraced by some and vigorously opposed by others.

No amount of industrial standardization can approach the level of quality which an adept craftsperson achieves.. colors created slowly, filled by hand and carefully inspected for flaws at every stage. The result is noticeably brighter, more intense, stronger and easier to use color than standard commercial offerings.
